We have three studios dedicated to specialised printmaking techniques, as well as three supporting studios. We offer all major printmaking processes – stone lithography, intaglio printing (copperplate etching) and collagraph, screen-printing, relief (woodcut and linocut) and chine collé. There are nine printmaking presses in use across North and 2nd Avenue campuses, including a custom designed hydraulic and Vandercook press, an electric press, two manual presses, a stone lithographic press, offset press and two screen-printing presses. Our screen-printing facility offers state of the art equipment for both Textile Design and Fine Art printing. The studios are managed by practicing artists and master printmakers Professor Vulindlela Nyoni and Jessica Staple.
